History of Sea Ranch Chapel
Construction
The list of local artisans who built the chapel is impressive. A labor of love, the Chapel took nine months to complete. James Hubble assembled a team of professionals to realize his design. Presented with a design model and sketches, Thamby Kumaran, a local contractor who specialized in hand-crafted structures, led the construction team of local artisans and craftsmen. The coordinating architect was Don Jacobs. Tim Carpenter, Brian Smith and Tim McMurty, local carpenters, were intimately involved with the unique and one of a kind construction of the chapel. Built without construction plans, a model was used to focus the work. Other professionals involved, include, David Cole, engineer, Don McAdames & Brelji & Race, civil engineers, and Frank Berlogar, a geo-technical soils engineer.
